🏆 An exciting contest organized to raise awareness about civet coffee and illegal civet farms is officially launched!!
🌎 Nowadays, civet coffee has been considered one of the most expensive coffees in Vietnam’s coffee market. However, in the last decade, wild civets have been hunted and captured to serve civet farms and wild meat restaurants, and to increase profits and competition of the civet coffee products.
Meanwhile, the population of civet species in the wild is rapidly declining and is at risk of extinction. Among them, there are many precious rare species such as Owston’s Civet, Large-spotted Civets, and Binturong which have also been threatened with extinction for these reasons.
🌎 The contest “Civet Coffee – Is It Worth Consuming?” is organized to raise consumers’ and community’ awareness about civet coffee, civet conservation issues, animal welfare, and potential infectious diseases relating to illegal civet farms.
